Fix Admin Contrast

Beschrijving

Input fields on the WordPress admin screens have been nearly invisible since version 2.7. After a year of hacking CSS files to work around this problem, Matt suggested I make a plugin to override core CSS values. This plugin does just that.

Fix Admin Contrast now also corrects white point issues on iPad and similar displays. Without this plugin, the administrative table colors can look the same as the background color.

If you need even more contrast, consider my plugin called High Contrast Admin

I was about to start customising the CSS for the admin myself when I thought I cannot be the only one who is frustrated by the lack of contrast within the WordPress admin. The plugin works as it says. Even if you have 20/20 vision you will struggle to view the inputs and options within WordPress. I cannot believe the core team thinks this is acceptable. My vision is excellent but my new LED monitor is extremely bright which makes the subtle shades of grey and white indistinguishable. If I tweak the contrast to suit this the colours suffer. Even in a well lit room you can struggle to view the admin boxes. Thanks very much for wrapping this up in a plugin. I’d love to see some options in the future for a high contrast version (for DDA, etc.) but maybe there is another plugin out there already.
